The Student Association of Lepaa is a non-profit organization which consists of Häme University of Applied Sciences’ and Häme vocational institute’s students studying at Lepaa. The main task of the Student Association is to act as a subsidiary of its members and to promote and supervise the general and common interests of students in the educational institution, especially educational and social policy matters. In addition, the association organizes leisure activities for its members, and all students on the campus are welcome.
The Student Association of Lepaa additionally acts as a bridge and a communicator between Lepaa students and regional/nationwide student organizations, regenerates the content of teaching and studying, plus supervises as well as promotes the legal protection of the students.
The Association has been found in 1913 and turned 110 years old in 2023! The Student Association was originally found by the name Lepaan Puutarhaopiston Toveriliitto (The Fellow Union of the Garden Institute). Later on the name has been changed to Lepaan oppilaskunta (The Student Association of Lepaa) or LOK ry for short.
